The efficiency, resistance, air permeability, dust holding capacity, and service life of the dust collector bag are collectively referred to as filtration performance.

  1. Filter efficiency of the dust collector bag. On the one hand, the filtration efficiency of the filter material is related to the structure of the filter material, and on the other hand, it also depends on the dust layer formed on the filter material. From the perspective of the filter material structure, the filtering effect of short fibers is higher than that of long fibers. Felt filter material is higher than fabric filter material. From the point of view of the formation of the dust layer, for thin filter materials, after dust removal, the dust layer is destroyed and the efficiency is greatly reduced, while for thick filter materials, some dust can be retained in the filter material after dust removal to avoid excessive dust removal. Generally speaking, the highest efficiency can be achieved when the filter material is not broken. Therefore, as long as the design parameters are selected properly, the dust removal effect of the bag filter should be no problem.
  2. Air permeability and resistance of the dust collector bag.  Air permeability refers to the amount of gas passing through the filter material per unit area under a certain differential pressure. The resistance of the filter material is directly related to the air permeability. As the constant pressure difference value for the calibrated air permeability, the value varies from country to country. The air permeability depends on the fiber fineness, fiber and type, and weaving method. Air permeability generally refers to the air permeability of the clean filter material. When dust accumulates on the dust bag, the air permeability will decrease.
  3. The dust holding capacity of the dust collector bag. Dust holding capacity, also known as dust load, refers to the amount of dust accumulated on the filter material per unit area when a given resistance value is reached. The dust holding capacity of the dust bag affects the resistance of the filter material and the cleaning cycle. In order to avoid frequent dust cleaning and prolong the life of the filter bag, the dust holding capacity of the filter material is generally required to be larger. The dust holding capacity is related to the porosity and air permeability of the filter material. The felt filter material has a larger dust holding capacity than the fabric filter material.
  4. The life of the filter material of the dust collector bag. The life of the filter material refers to the time when the filter material is damaged under normal use conditions. The life of the filter material depends on two factors, the quality of the filter material itself and the conditions of use.
