ES-MS-R/V Modular Self-cleaning Filter

Modular self-cleaning filter is designed based on the modular concept, combining multiple standard filtration units into a fully automatic filtration system. The system has a high safety factor and can flexibly increase the number of online units according to traffic needs. Modular self-cleaning filters operate automatically without manual cleaning, with strong scalability. They can be externally connected to high-pressure backwashing fluids and operate with low pressure differential. V-SLOT filter elements are used for thorough backwashing, which consumes less liquid. Modular self-cleaning filters can purify fluids, protect critical downstream equipment, and also utilize their backwash effluent to recover expensive solid particles. The product is suitable for low viscosity liquids, such as raw water, sewage, gasoline, heavy-duty coking gasoline, diesel, residual oil, etc

Description

Modular self-cleaning filters are divided into four series:

  • MS-R series, automatic backwashing type of filtrate, uses the filtrate from other filtering units to backwash the filter cake on the outer surface of the filter elemen.
  • MS-V series, external fluid automatic backwashing, using external clean fluid (liquid or gas) to flush the surface filter cake of the filter element; MS-T series, filtrate manual backwash type; MS-G series, external fluid manual backwash type.

How Self-cleaning Works

The liquid flows in from the inlet main pipe and enters the inlet of each filter unit. The liquid penetrates the outer surface of the filter element from the outside to the inside, flows to the outlet of each filter unit, gathers at the outlet header pipe and then flows out. The particulate impurities are intercepted on the outer surface of the filter element and accumulate to form a filter cake, when the filter pressure difference gradually increases to the preset value (usually 70-130Kpa), or when the cleaning time period is up, the control system starts the backwashing action, and backwashes each filter unit one by one, until the entire backwashing process is completed. When a filter unit is backwashed, other units still filter normally.

According to the different sources of backwashing liquid, the backwashing methods are divided into: filtered purified liquor backwash type , external purified liquor backwash type.Backwash principle as follows:

01. Filtered purified liquor backwash type

  • Filtering stage: the inlet and outlet valves are opened, and the backwash valve is closed.
  • Backwashing stage: the control system closes the inlet valve of a filter unit and opens the backwash valve at the same time. Due
    to the pressure difference between the inside of the filter element and the backwash outlet (connected to the atmosphere), part of the filtrated purified liquor from other filter units will flow to this filter unit quickly backwashes the filter element, washes away the impurities on the outer surface of the filter element, and drains them through the backwash header pipe, then closes the backwash valve and opens the inlet control valve to continue the filtering operation; Units perform the same backwash action until all filter units are backwashed one by one.

02. External purified liquor backwash type

  • Filtoringstage: the inlet and outlet valves are opened, and the backwash inlet and outlet control valves are closed.
  • Backwashing stage: the control system closes the inlet valve and outlet valve of a filter unit, opens the backwash inlet valve and outlet valve, and uses an external clean liquid or gas to backwash the filter element to wash away the impurities on the outer surface of the filter element. Drain the header pipe, then close the backwashing inlet and outlet valves, open the liquid inlet and outlet valves to continue filtering; the control system performs the same backwashing action on the next filter unit until all filter units are backwashed one by one. External purified liquor backwash type, suitable for liquids with slightly higher viscosity, oroccasions where the inlet pressure is less than 0.3Mpa (there is a certain difference depending on the accuracy and viscosity). Filtrate purified liquor backwash type, suitable for water and low-viscosity liquid, the inlet pressure requirement is greater than 0.3Mpa (there is a certain difference depending on the accuracy and viscosity).

v-SLOT Filter Elements

MDS-CF filter is equipped with V-SLOT Wedge wire screen. There are two types of filter element, A-type filter area is0.267 m; B-type filter area is 0.314 m, B-type filter area is larger than A-type 17% more, suitable for filtration of less than 100 microns, the filter can be more compact, type A is suitable for filtration of more than 100 um.

The advantages of V-SL0T are as follows:

  • V-shaped gap, not easy to be stuck by impurities, long-term stable flow.
  • Good at filtering impurities such as microfiber, sludge, soft agglomeration.
  • High-strength structure, when the pressure difference rises, the gap does not deform.
  • Resistance to high-intensity positive and negative pressure.
  • Accuracy range 25-500 microns.
  • Accurate surface slit width for precise filtration.
  • Filter housing is made of 304 and 316L materials, with excellent corrosion resistance.

ACS series self-cleaning control system

The ACS control system has pressure difference and timing backwashing functions. The pressure difference mode is suitable for most occasions and is the most efficient mode. The pressure difference reflects the accumulation of filter cakes on the outer surface of the filter element.When the set value is reached, the automatic for cleaning action, the recommended cleaning pressure difference is 70Kpa, which can be set within the range of 50~200Kpa according to the working conditions.The timing mode can be set between 0 ~ 24 h. If the pressure difference mode fails, the time mode still works, highlight the ultimate security protection function. The cleaning cycle setting should be close to the average cycle in the filter pressure difference cleaning mode.

There are two types of differential pressure transmitters for the ACS control system (differential pressure transmitter and differential pressure switch). The differential pressure transmitter can output real-time differential pressure values with the highest sensitivity and reliability, which is convenient for DCS remote real-time monitoring; the other The differential pressure switch of the transmitter has high sensitivity and long-term reliability. It has two differential pressure set points, and the set point accuracy is±5Kpa. One is the cleaning differential pressure (such as 70KPa), and the other can be used as the abnormal differential pressure. The value is used for alarm (such as 02MPA), which can be connected to DCS for remote monitoring.
