Extended information:
Usually, after the crude oil is mined and processed, it will be transported to the downstream refinery for processing by train, ship, pipeline, etc. China National Offshore Oil Refinery, including Huizhou Refinery, mainly adopts shipping methods.
This is also a long process – the crude oil extracted from the offshore platform must first be transported to the tanker through the oil pipeline; due to the influence of the depth of the channel, the tanker cannot be directly docked and transported to the island crude oil bank closer to the shore. The zone is transited; subsequently, the crude oil is piped from the reservoir area to the crude oil storage tank of the refinery.
When the crude oil is transported to a refinery such as Huizhou Refining & Chemical, a series of deep processing is started. After entering the atmospheric and vacuum distillation unit, the crude oil is “divided” into fractions such as “normal oil and regular oil” and oils of different light and heavy qualities.
Among them, several light oils with the shortest molecular carbon chain will be treated by “catalytic reforming – aromatics unit”; medium and heavy oils are subjected to “medium pressure hydrocracking – high pressure hydrocracking”, or “Catalytic cracking” treatment; while several heavy oils are “coking” or “gas”. In these processes, ethylene, propylene, propane, gasoline, as well as diesel, naphtha, fuel gas, jet fuel and other products are produced. The products such as olefin, propylene and propane are the main raw materials for making fabrics and synthetic fibers.
