Spinning is a finer yarn made from roving, which is used for weaving or spinning.

The spinning process is the last one in spinning production. It spins roving into yarn with a certain number of specifications, which meets the quality standards or customer requirements. It is used for twisting, weaving or knitting. The spinning process mainly completes the following tasks:

(1) Drawing: Drawing the feeding roving or sliver evenly to the special number required by the spinning.

(2) Twisting: By adding proper twist to the drafted sliver, the yarn has certain physical and mechanical properties such as strength, elasticity, gloss and handle.

(3) Winding Forming: The spinning yarn is wound on the barrel according to certain forming requirements, so as to facilitate transportation, storage and subsequent processing.

Spinning is a very important process in spinning. The size of the production scale of cotton spinning mills is usually expressed by the total number of spinning frames. The spinning output is the basis for determining the number of machines equipped in each process of spinning mills. The level of production and quality, consumption of raw materials, machine materials, electricity, labor productivity and equipment intact rate also reflect the quality of production technology and management level of spinning mills.
