1. Yarn should have good hygroscopicity

The ability of yarns to absorb moisture in the air is called hygroscopicity. The hygroscopicity of various fibers varies greatly, and the amount of hygroscopicity varies with the temperature and humidity of air. The yarn used in knitting production should have certain moisture absorption. Under the same relative humidity, yarns with good hygroscopicity not only have good electrical conductivity, but also improve the stability and elongation of yarn twist, so that yarns have good knitting performance.

  1. The yarn should have good finish and small friction coefficient.

Knitting yarns should be as smooth as possible and free of impurities and grease stains. Non-smooth yarn can cause severe friction to the machine parts, easily damage the machine parts, and there are many flying flowers in the workshop, which not only affects the health of workers, but also affects the productivity of knitting machines and the quality of fabrics.

In addition, in the knitting process, the yarn should be in contact with a variety of machine parts to make relative sliding, so that the yarn is subjected to certain resistance, resulting in yarn tension. Therefore, the yarn with rough surface or excessive friction coefficient will produce higher yarn tension when it passes through the winding parts, which will affect the uniformity of yarn tension, thus resulting in uneven coil structure. In order to reduce the friction coefficient of the yarn, the surface of the yarn can be wakened by antistatic agents and lubricants or wax treatment.
