Felt has become an indispensable daily necessities in our lives. Many advantages of felt have been praised by consumers. The formation of felt is achieved through a series of manufacturing processes. Do you know that polyester felt is felt to be pressed? ?
The polyester needle felt felt needs to be pressed before the finished product. The polyester felt needle felt blank is essentially a regular wool fiber bulk before it is unpressed. This large block is porous and the fibers are in point contact with each other and are colluded with each other. When the upper platen is lowered, the wool fiber block is compressed, the thickness is greatly reduced, the gap between the fibers is reduced, and the contact point is increased. When the upper platen is pressurized, the gap between the fibers gradually decreases, and the points at which the fibers contact each other continuously increase. The volume of the fiber block is reduced and the proportion increased. After compression, due to the higher elasticity of the felt’s wool fibers, the fibers undergo deformation when they begin to compress. As the pressure increases, the fiber deformation movement gradually decreases and the number of contact points increases. When the pressure is removed, the fibers have a higher elastic recovery capacity and the fibers are displaced from each other. Therefore, in order to improve the felt quality, the wool mesh must be watered, the temperature of the upper and lower platens reaches 80-95°C, and the wool fibers are subjected to “heat setting” under high temperature compression.
In addition, it should be noted that when cleaning the needle felt, the hand light pressure method is used to clean the felt, and the dirtier part needs to be lightly scrubbed. Never scrub with a brush.
