2. Nylon: (China’s trade name) is the earliest synthetic fiber, the varieties are nylon 6, nylon 66; like polyester, there are other trade names, the United States trade name is (Nylon) nylon, the Japanese trade name is (Nailon) nylon. The dyeing performance of nylon 6 is better than that of nylon 66.
The nylon fibers are straight and smooth in longitudinal direction, and the cross section can be circular or other shapes. The most prominent feature of nylon is excellent wear resistance (10 times higher than cotton), good strength and elasticity. Therefore, it has excellent durability, and is often used to make socks, ropes, less than polyester fibers, so it is light to wear, poor moisture absorption of nylon fibers, and good waterproof and wind-proof performance, suitable for mountaineering clothes, parachutes, windbreakers. Because of its low moisture regain and poor hygroscopicity, the fabric is prone to static electricity and heat suffocation, but its wearability has been greatly improved by modifying and blending with other fibers.
