The dust characteristic parameter is the main basis for the design and selection of the dust removal system. The parameters mainly include density, particle size distribution, specific resistance, and explosiveness.
- The dust density has a true density and a bulk density, and has a certain influence on gravity sedimentation, cyclone separation, bag dust removal and the like.
- The particle size distribution generally adopts the mass particle size distribution, which is one of the main factors affecting dust removal. The dust particle size distribution determines the selection and system design of the dust collector to a certain extent.
- Dust wetness: It refers to the difficulty of dust being wet by water, and it is one of the basis for selecting dust removal method. The wet dust removal method is better for hydrophilic dust, and the wet dust removal is not suitable for hydrophobic dust.
- Specific resistance: The specific resistance has an important influence on the electrostatic precipitating effect. The usual electric dust removal range is from 104 to 1011 Ω.cm. If the resistance is too low, it is easy to generate secondary dust. If it is too high, it will easily form a local electric field, resulting in a sharp drop in dust removal efficiency.
- For explosive dust, the explosion-proof work should be highly valued when designing the dust removal system. In the selection of the precipitator, piping system design, installation site selection, electrical equipment selection, etc., attention should be paid to the requirements of explosion protection.
