The main task of roving process is to draw the sliver 5-12 times and add proper twist to make it strong enough to withstand the tension of roving winding and unwinding on the spinning frame, to prevent accidental drafting, and to form the twisted roving.

The key points of roving process design are as follows:

(1) According to the quantitative size of the sliver, taking into account the drafting capacity of the spinning frame, the size of the yarn density and the requirements of roving processing quality, the quantitative and total drafting multiple of the roving are set correctly.

(2) Ensure that the roving frame can process the sliver into roving with a certain linear density according to the design requirements, and correctly allocate the number of teeth of each draft gear.

(3) Through reasonable process design, the roving product processing quality can be improved as much as possible, and high quality semi-products can be provided to the spinning process, which lays a good foundation for the final improvement of yarn quality.
