The sizing rate of sizing is one of the important indicators for measuring the quality of sizing. The appropriate sizing rate improves the wovenness of the yarn and reduces the yarn breakage rate during weaving. If the sizing rate is too high, the surface pulp is too much, the yarn elasticity is decreased, the elongation rate is increased, and the falling pulp and the brittle break are easily generated during weaving, and the slurry consumption is large, and the sizing cost is increased. The sizing rate is too low, the sizing of the sizing is light, the opening of the loom is unclear, and the warp yarn breaks up, which affects production. The control of the sizing rate is very important in the production process.

The factors affecting the sizing rate are as follows:

①Slurry concentration, viscosity and temperature. The slurry concentration is the main factor affecting the sizing rate. Other conditions are unchanged, the slurry concentration is large, and the sizing rate is increased. The viscosity of the slurry mainly affects the ratio of slurry penetration and coating, and also affects the sizing rate. The slurry temperature primarily affects the viscosity of the slurry.

②Pressurizing strength of the pressure roller. Under the condition that the slurry concentration and the sizing speed are constant, the grouting force increases, the sizing rate decreases, the soaking is more, and the coating is less; otherwise, the reverse is reversed. High-pressure sizing is often used to achieve energy saving, increase vehicle speed, and improve sizing quality.

③sizing speed. Other conditions are unchanged, the sizing speed is increased, the dipping time is reduced, the grouting time is also reduced, the pressed pulp is less, and the sizing rate is increased; otherwise, the reverse is reversed.

④State (elasticity) of the surface of the press roll. When the grouting force is constant, the elasticity is good, the pressure zone is large, the pressure is small, and the sizing rate is increased; the difference in elasticity is opposite.

⑤The number of times of yarn immersion in the slurry tank, the form of the immersion roller and its high and low position, affecting the yarn tension, the immersion time and the length of the immersion, affecting the sizing rate and the sizing effect.

⑥The tension of the yarn in the slurry tank is required to be at zero elongation or negative elongation to ensure sufficient suction.

When adjusting the sizing rate, if a larger range is to be changed, the slurry concentration must be adjusted; if the sizing rate is adjusted in a small range, the grouting can be changed.
