At the “China Nuclear Society Group Standards Release Conference” held at the 15th China International Nuclear Industry Exhibition, the Technical Specification for Electron Beam Treatment of Printing and Dyeing and Paper Industry Wastewater, which was initiated and edited by China Guangdong Nuclear Power Technology Development Co., Ltd. and China National Nuclear Corporation Dasheng Accelerator Technology Co., Ltd., was officially promulgated.
This technical specification is the first technical standard for the global application of electron beam treatment industrial wastewater, filling the gap in international standards. It is reported that the technical specifications will be officially implemented on May 30, 2018.
The so-called electron beam irradiation technology refers to the use of accelerated electron beam current bombardment or irradiation to achieve the purpose of improving product performance and purifying substances.
As one of the core technologies for the preparation and processing of refractory metals, electron beam technology has been widely used in the fields of molding and refining of high-temperature alloys, welding of high-temperature alloys, surface modification and coating preparation. The field of application of this technology is still expanding. Future electron beam irradiation technology can also be used in the fields of medical wastewater, waste treatment, waste incineration, and dioxin treatment.
For refractory organic substances, this technology has advantages that are unmatched by other technologies, and is expected to solve the “world problem” of refractory wastewater treatment. It has been listed by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) as the main research direction for the peaceful use of atomic energy in the 21st century.
