The selection of dust collectors should take into account various factors such as efficiency, load, energy consumption and economy. Due to the difference of working principle and product structure, we need to understand their respective characteristics in order to achieve the ideal dust removal effect.

  1. The gravity sedimentation chamber has the advantages of simple structure and low cost. The disadvantage is that it is bulky and low in efficiency, and is mainly used for large particles, especially some dust with strong abrasion. Ways to improve the efficiency of the gravity settling chamber include: reducing the velocity of the airflow, reducing the height of the settling chamber, increasing the length, and the like.
  2. The cyclone dust collector largely overcomes the shortage of the gravity sedimentation chamber, and has the advantages of simple structure, low cost, small volume, high efficiency, etc., and is widely used in primary dust removal. Attention should be paid to the design and use: optimize the design structure, properly reduce the outlet pipe and lengthen the cone. Maintain a high inlet flow rate, typically 12 to 25 m/s. In particular, it is necessary to strictly control the tightness of the structure of the bottom ash discharge, and adopt a fixed ash bucket leakage, double flaps, and a rotary airlock to prevent secondary air leakage.
  3. Bag type dust collector has the advantages of high efficiency, convenient powder recovery and strong adaptability. It is widely used in industrial production, but it should not be used under high temperature and sticky dust.
  4. The wet scrubbers such as spray cyclone scrubbers and packed towers have the great advantage of removing harmful gases and reducing gas temperature while removing dust, so they are especially suitable for high temperature, flammable, explosive and harmful gases. The disadvantage is that the dust will form sludge and it is difficult to recycle.
  5. The electrostatic precipitator has high efficiency, large processing capacity, small pressure loss and low energy consumption. However, the investment is high, the equipment is complicated, the floor space is large, and the technical requirements for use and maintenance are high, which limits its scope of use.
  6. The electrostatic precipitator is greatly affected by the dust characteristics, and is not suitable for fine dust. It has strong advantages and complements the bag filter. The electric bag composite dust removal technology is firstly subjected to electric dust removal and then bag dust removal to achieve low resistance. Efficient, long-cycle operation, and up to standard emissions, therefore, the current electric bag composite dust collector is more and more widely used.
