Filterek liquid bag filters are designed for liquid filtration and purification purposes only. First time end users are strongly encouraged to consult with local Filterek authorized distributor for filter media compatibilities, including but not limited to chemical compatibilities, temperature range, system pressure, liquid flow rate, specific gravity and viscosities, etc. Improper use may result in performance failure, operator body injuries or even death.
- Bag Filter Installation
1.1 Flow Direction: Unlike the filtration concept of cartridge filters, the correct flow direction of bag filters is from inside out, i.e. Unfiltered liquid flow into the bag filter, go through the filter media, filtered liquid comes out the bag filter and goes downstream, Reverse flow will result in immediate operational failure.
1.2 Basket Support: Bag filters must be mechanically supported by metal baskets. Bag filters are NOT designed to withstand system pressure by themselves. Without basket support or with improper basket support, bag filters will rupture when pressure is applied. Prior to bag installation, make sure the support basket is in place.
At installation, make sure the bag bottom is fully seated into the support basket. Suspended bag filters may rupture when pressure is applied. Use Filterek genuine bag filter installer to gently push the bag downward so that the bag bottom reaches the bottom of the basket.
1.3 Filter Top Seal: Signature and patent SDS seal ring is highly effective in preventing liquid bypass. The traditional steel rings are also viable seal ring alternatives, however sealing effectiveness is somewhat compromised. Bag filters topped with improper seal rings, which can not guarantee bypass free operations, will lead to performance failures.
Make sure the seal ring is properly seated into the filter housing collar, otherwise bypass may take place during operation.
