PTFE Filament Fibers

PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) filament fibers are highly specialized fibers known for their unique properties, such as exceptional chemical resistance, high temperature tolerance, and low friction. These fibers are widely used in various industries for demanding applications, including filtration, protective clothing, and industrial components.

Main Properties

  • Chemical resistance: PTFE is virtually unaffected by most chemicals, acids, and solvents.
  • Heat resistance: It can withstand extreme temperatures, typically ranging from -200°C to 260°C (-328°F to 500°F).
  • Low friction: PTFE has one of the lowest coefficients of friction among solid materials, making it ideal for applications requiring smooth movement.
  • Non-stick and hydrophobic: These fibers are highly resistant to sticking and have water-repellent characteristics.
  • Electrical insulation: PTFE is an excellent electrical insulator, suitable for use in high-frequency and high-voltage applications.

Fiber Types

Our PTFE filament fiber can be divided into two types: drawn filament and film cut filament, which are made by the drawing process and the slitting process respectively.

Film Cut Filament:

PTFE fibers are made by cutting PTFE film into narrow strips or filaments. This method can produce fibers with specific widths and thicknesses, making them suitable for a variety of industrial applications that require precision and the inherent properties of PTFE.

  • Relatively soft and have greater elongation and shrinkage;
  • Easily woven or knitted as fabric.

Drawn Filament:

The “drawing process” uses PTFE dispersed resin as the raw material, and then draws it several times during the sintering process to make the filament. resistance and heat tolerance. This process enhances the strength and mechanical properties of the filament while maintaining PTFE’s inherent qualities, such as chemical

  • Smaller heat shrinkage;
  • High sintering temperature;
  • High wire crystallinity and round wire diameter.
