The filter cake is the material produced by liquid-solid separation. Because of its porous structure, when performing liquid-solid separation, no matter how good the filter cloth is, a part of the mother liquor will be retained in it. This is called the liquid content of the filter cake. This amount varies, at least a few percent, and at most, it may reach more than 80%. Therefore, the filter cake must be washed.
Filter cake washing is especially common in the industrial field of liquid-solid separation. The main purposes are three:
1) Recover valuable mother liquor from the filter cake to improve the recovery rate of filtrate;
2) Wash the liquid impurities in the filter cake to improve the purity of the solid in the filter residue;
3) Use washing liquid for valuable ingredients or harmful impurities in the filter cake of Sakae District;
Filter cake washing is a very important part of liquid-solid separation and filtration, which has great economic significance. In some very specific industrial fields, filter cake washing may account for more than 80% of the total workload, which shows its great significance.
