Tower filter produces extremely dry solids, thus eliminating or dramatically reducing the need for thermal drying. The multifilament or multifilament / monofilament mixed belt filter cloth is most commonly used on the vertical tower press filters, due to its extremely high tenacity and better capacity of particle retaining. Both sides twill weave makes the cloth has smooth surfaces, for easily filter cake discharge.

Description

The vertical tower press belt filter cloth is the specially designed filter element of the vertical tower belt filter machine, for example, Larox vertical tower press filter. It’s one piece continuous filter cloth in “Z” shaped between the filter plates group. The belt filter cloth deployed between the filter plates horizontally. During the press filtration process, the filter plates group are pressed together, then pump the slurry into the filtration chamber, the filtrate reaches through the filter cloth, and the solid particles are retained on the filter cloth to form a filter cake. Then open the filter plate group and discharge filter cakes.

 

 

The vertical tower press filters are widely used in the washed mineral of heavy non-ferrous metal, especially for the large throughput and fine particles of difficult to filter, and filter cake moisture request lower than 10%.

The working conditions require the belt filter cloth for a vertical tower press belt filter should be in excellent filter performance to capture the fine particles, good conveying for large volume filter cake, abrasion resistant for metal prills and scraper, chemical resistant for chemical solvents, and excellent mechanical strength for enduring the tensile of the driven & tension roller, furthermore the belt filter cloth should be good heat set to ensure the stable dimension and low elongation. Generally, the tension of the belt filter cloth on a vertical tower press filter is about 5kN.

The special “Z” shape of this kind of belt filter cloth fixed on a vertical tower press filter request the cloth has a significant difference from other belt filter cloths, it has the same weave structure on both sides, double-sided filtration, and double-sided cleaning.


Working Principle

: Filtrating Phase: After closing filter board frame ,material slurry will be pumped into filter chamber, then through filtrate soft tube and arrive at general filtrate tube after that discharged; meanwhile, it forms filtrate disc in filtrate chamber.
: First Extrusion: High pressure water enter into upper chamber through high pressure water tube, then make separating film moving to filter disc for pressing, so that to extrude liquid out from filter disc.
: Washing(optional): washing liquid is pumped into filiter chamber through material slurry tube;then passing through filter disc and filter cloth and then flow into discharging pipr.
: Second extrusion: Similar to fist extrusion.
: Air Drying:through filiter disc air current to carry water content,reduce filter water content to the largest extent.
: Filter cake discharge: When finished air drying, filter plate assembly will open and let the filter cloth rolling. Filter cake drop down from filter press with filter press with cloth and at the same time enter into washing device to finish recycle.

Smooth surface for easy cake discharge, acid-resistant, wear-resistant and high-strength, anti-blocking, easy to clean, and regeneration. The normal use temperature is less than 130 °C (266 °F), and the instantaneous use temperature is 150 °C  (302 °F).
Polyester multifilament filter cloth The series of filter cloth is weaving by the polyester filament in multi-strand. It is acid-resistant, high strength, better intercept ability for fine particles, but more difficult to clean than monofilament due to the multi-fiber. The normal working temperature is no more than 130 °C (266 °F), and the instantaneous working temperature is 150 °C  (302 °F).
Polypropylene (PP) monofilament filter cloth Made of polypropylene high-strength monofilament, smooth surface for easy cake discharge, acid and alkali resistant, hydrolysis, oxidation and mildew resistant. The normal working temperature of PP filter cloth is less than 90 degrees Celsius, and the instantaneous use temperature is 90°C (194 °F).
Polypropylene (PP) multifilament filter cloth Made of polypropylene monofilament in multi-strand, smooth surface, acid and alkali resistant, hydrolysis, oxidation and mildew resistant, high strength, better intercept ability for fine particles, but more difficult to clean than monofilament due to the multi-fiber. The normal working temperature of PP filter cloth is less than 90 degrees Celsius, and the instantaneous use temperature is 90°C (194 °F).
