The ozone measuring method is a standard method for measuring ozone by utilizing the characteristics of ozone absorption of ultraviolet light at a wavelength of 254 nm, and measuring the intensity of ultraviolet light passing through ozone to detect the ozone concentration according to Lambert-Beer’s law. This method is not only suitable for detecting the concentration of ozone in gas, but also for detecting the concentration of ozone dissolved in water. It has been used as a standard method for measuring ozone in ambient air in China.
In the electrochemical method, the ozone gas to be measured is contacted with the instrument in a diffusion manner, and reacts to output a stable electrical signal. The gas concentration value can be stably displayed on the display with data. The principle of the ultraviolet absorption method is that the ozone has maximum absorption and sparsity for the wavelength λ=254 nm ultraviolet light, and the ultraviolet light passes through the ozone layer at this wavelength, which is in accordance with the Lanport-Beer law. At present, the ultraviolet absorption method has been adopted as a standard method for ozone analysis by the United States and other countries. The ultraviolet absorption method has the advantages of high detection precision, good stability, and small interference of other oxidants. The disadvantage is that the price is higher.
Spectral analysis refers to a method of analyzing the wavelength and intensity of emitted light, absorbed light, or scattered light generated by a substance under the action of light. In spectral analysis, an analytical method based on the selective absorption of light by a substance is called an absorptiometry.
Scientists have discovered that the ozone layer can absorb ultraviolet light. Studies have shown that ozone has a maximum absorption coefficient only for ultraviolet light with a wavelength of 253.7 nm. At this wavelength, ultraviolet light will be attenuated by ozone, in line with Lanport-Beer’s law: the principle has been adopted by the United States and other countries. As an ozone standard analysis method: the ozone detector adopts the principle of ultraviolet absorption method, generates ultraviolet light by a stable ultraviolet light source, filters out other wavelength ultraviolet light with a light wave filter, and allows only a wavelength of 253.7 nm to pass. After passing through the sample photosensor and passing through the ozone absorption cell, the sampled photosensor is reached. By comparing the electrical signals of the sample photosensor and the sampling photosensor, and then calculating the mathematical model, the ozone concentration can be obtained.
