PPS is also called polyphenylene sulfide fiber. The fiber is a new type of high temperature resistant fiber developed by Phillips in the United States and introduced to the market in 1983. At present, China’s market for high-temperature needle-punched filter felts mainly consists of organic fiber Nomex Conex, Kermel and inorganic fiberglass fibers as raw materials. The physical properties of organic fibers are significantly better than inorganic fibers. Polyphenylene sulfide fiber is another highly functional fiber in high-temperature resistant organic fiber in recent years. It not only can withstand high temperature, but also has excellent anti-corrosion performance with other high temperature resistant fibers.
The outstanding advantages of PPS needled felt made of polyphenylene sulfide fibers indicate the following aspects:
1, good temperature resistance melting point 285 °C, continuous use temperature of 190 °C, instant temperature of 230 °C.
2, excellent corrosion resistance Polyphenylene sulfide fibers in organic acids, inorganic acids, acids, oxidants, etc. are better than Nomex Conex and Kermel fiber.
3. The excellent flame retardant polyphenylene sulfide fiber has an oxygen index (LDI) of 34-35, which is an incombustible material. Puncture felts of PPS fibers not only have high temperature resistance but also have the unique properties of corrosion resistance.
PPS needle felt fiber has the strength of complete retention and inherent chemical resistance, can maintain good filtration performance in harsh environments, and achieve an ideal service life. In the pulsed dust collectors such as filtration smelting, chemical, building materials, thermal power, waste incinerators, coal-fired boilers and other high-temperature harsh working conditions, PPS dust filter bags are ideal filter materials.
