There are many kinds of raw materials that can be used to make filter media, and there are more than one methods of making filter media. Filter materials made with different materials and different manufacturing methods have different applicable conditions. Therefore, what kind of filter should be used should be carefully selected according to the conditions of use of different users.
There are mainly the following conditions for selecting the filter media.
(1) Temperature: Because the filter media made from different raw materials can withstand different temperatures for a long time, if the use temperature is higher than the filter media can withstand, the filter media will soon be damaged.
(2) Humidity: The moisture content in the gas is related to its dew point. High moisture content, high dew point, easy condensation in the bag filter, so that dust is easy to teach in the filter bag and affect the cleaning effect. If the dust remover is often run above and below the dew point, the temperature is sometimes higher than the dew point, and sometimes it is below the dew point, and the filter material will be brittle and easily damaged. Another important problem is that if the bag filter is operated under conditions of high temperature and considerable moisture, some of the filter media will be damaged quickly due to hydrolysis.
(3) Chemical composition: If the dust-laden gas handled by the bag filter contains acid, alkali or organic solvents, the filter media that can resist the corrosion of these materials should be selected. If you are dealing with hot gases that contain a certain amount of oxygen or dust that can oxidize, some of the filter media can be easily damaged. Sulfur in the wound of the gas will greatly increase the dew point
(4) Flammability and possibility of explosion: If the dust-laden air contains combustible gases such as hydrogen, carbon monoxide, methane, acetylene, etc., or dust such as grain, aluminum, etc. reaches a certain concentration range, a violent explosion will occur in the event of a fire. In this case, a flame-retardant filter that can eliminate static electricity should be used.
