Meta-Aramid fibers are a type of synthetic aromatic polyamide (aramid) fiber that is known for its excellent heat resistance, flame retardancy, and chemical stability. These fibers are made from meta-phenylenediamine and terephthaloyl chloride through a polymerization process, resulting in a high-performance material widely used in demanding applications.
- SGS REACH certification
Description
Product Features
- High Heat Resistance
Meta-aramid fibers can withstand high temperatures, typically up to 450°F (232°C), without degrading. This makes them ideal for environments exposed to heat and flames.
- Flame Retardancy
They are naturally flame-resistant, which means they do not burn easily and self-extinguish when the source of heat is removed. This makes them a popular choice in protective clothing, such as firefighter suits and industrial uniforms.
- Chemical Resistance
Meta-aramid fibers are resistant to many chemicals, oils, and solvents, making them suitable for use in chemical processing and industrial filtration applications.
- High Strength
These fibers have good tensile strength, which makes them durable and resistant to wear and tear.
- Low Abrasiveness
Meta-aramid fibers have low abrasiveness, which allows them to be used in applications that require friction-resistant materials, such as brake pads and clutch linings.
- Lightweight
Meta-aramid fibers are lightweight yet strong, making them ideal for use in textiles and composites where weight is a consideration.

Applications
- Protective clothing
One of the most common uses of meta-aramid fiber is protective clothing, such as fireproof clothing, gloves, aprons, hard hats and explosion-proof clothing. These fibers provide important heat and fire protection in industries such as firefighting, aviation and military applications.
- Filtration
Due to its heat and chemical resistance, meta-aramid fiber is widely used in industrial filters and can be processed into needle-punched nonwovens and woven filter cloths for high-temperature flue gas filtration in metallurgy, cement, construction and other fields.
- Other applications
- Aramid needle-punched nonwovens can be processed into high-temperature resistant conveyor belts, such as endless conveyor belts, sleeves, etc.
- It can also be made into textile high-speed printed carpets.
- Through appropriate papermaking processes, it can be processed into insulation paper, honeycomb cores, etc.
