Singed polyester needle-punched felt is a widely used industrial filtration material produced from high-quality polyester (PET) fibers through needle-punching, followed by a singeing surface treatment. The singeing process removes loose surface fibers and creates a smoother, more uniform surface structure.
Description
What is Singeing?
Singed needle-punched felt is a type of industrial nonwoven filtration material produced by needle-punching fibers into a dense felt structure, followed by a singeing (surface burning) process. During singeing, protruding surface fibers are thermally removed, resulting in a smoother and more uniform surface.

This treatment effectively reduces fiber shedding and prevents fine dust particles from embedding into the felt surface. As a result, singed needle-punched felt offers improved dust release performance, stable filtration efficiency, and lower pressure drop during operation. It also enhances abrasion resistance and helps maintain consistent airflow over extended service life.
The material can be further treated with anti-static, oil & water repellent, or membrane finishes to meet specific application requirements and is compatible with various dust collector systems, including pulse jet, reverse air, and shaker-type collectors.
Advantages
- Smooth surface with reduced fiber fuzz.
- Improved dust cake release and cleaning efficiency.
- Lower pressure drop and stable airflow.
- Reduced dust penetration and fiber shedding.
