Filmedia® aramid/Kevlar sewing thread offers excellent abrasion resistance, extremely low shrinkage, high tensile strength, long life, pollution-free operation, easy sewing, and affordability, making it an ideal solution.
Description
The advantages of Kevlar/Aramid sewing thread
Aramid main advantages are high strength and low weight. Like graphite, it has a slightly negative axial coefficient of thermal expansion, which means aramid laminates can be made thermally stable in dimensions. Unlike graphite, it is very resistant to impact and abrasion damage. It can be made waterproof when combined with other materials like epoxy. It can be used as a composite with rubber retaining its flexibility. High tensile modulus and low breakage elongation combined with very good resistance to chemicals make it the right choice for different composite structural parts in various applications.
- Permanent heat-resistant flame retardant, limiting oxygen index Loi greater than 28.
- Permanent anti-static.
- Permanent acid and organic solvents erosion.
- High strength, high wear resistance, high tear resistance.
- In the case of fire without droplets, do not produce toxic gases.
- When the fire cloth surface thickening, enhance the sealing, not broken.
Application of Kevlar Sewing Thread
- Protection Field
- It can be used to produce firefighting suits, arc protection suits, welding suits, metallurgical work clothes, and other equipment, providing fire protection, heat insulation, and cut resistance for personnel involved.
- It is also used in the production of bulletproof vests, helmet liners, and other bulletproof equipment, ensuring that the seams do not break under high-speed impacts, maintaining the protective performance of the equipment.
- Industrial Field
- It is used to reinforce the seams of dust filter bags in cement plants and steel mills, and can withstand corrosion from smoke and acidic gases at temperatures of 200-260°C.
- It can also be used to sew various industrial fabrics, filter bags, thermal insulation materials, and asbestos replacement gaskets, meeting the requirements of high-temperature, high-strength, and chemical-resistant environments.
- Aerospace and Automotive Manufacturing
- In aerospace, it is used to sew flight suits and parachutes, protecting against sudden fires in the cockpit and reinforcing parachute cord connections.
- In automotive manufacturing, it can be used to sew components requiring high strength and heat resistance, such as engine thermal insulation jackets.
- Sporting Goods
- Used in the production of high-performance sports equipment, such as racing suits and mountaineering suits. These equipment must possess high strength, light weight, and abrasion resistance to meet the demands of athletes in demanding sports.
