The Air Slide System, also known as air slide chute, fluidizing conveying system or pneumatic conveyor system, is widely used for the pneumatic conveying of powder and granular materials in industries including cement (cement air slide conveyor), food processing (grain air slide conveyor), energy, and more.
Applications
- Cement Industry: Transports cement powder while preventing dust leakage.
- Mining: Conveys coal powder, ore, and other bulk materials.
- Fertilizer & Agriculture: Handles pesticides, fertilizers, and other agricultural chemicals.
- Food Processing: Used for flour, powdered sugar, and other food materials to minimize dust loss.
- Chemical Industry: Transports various types of powder and granular chemicals.
System Description
The system mainly consists of an upper chute, air slide fabrics, and a lower chute. Compressed air is supplied into the lower chute, passes through the air slide fabrics, and fluidizes the dry powder or granular materials on the upper chute. Driven by gravity, the fluidized materials flow toward the lower section of the system, completing the conveying process.
The fluidized particles cause very little abrasion to the system. Since the system has almost no moving parts during operation, it features high durability and easy maintenance. Moreover, materials are conveyed inside a fully enclosed chute, preventing material loss and dust pollution.
In short, the Air Slide System uses compressed air to convey powder and granular materials via an inclined porous medium (air slide cloth). It is particularly suitable for dry powder and granular materials that are not ideal for mechanical or vibratory conveying.

How The Air Slide Works
The system generates an air cushion layer to enable material flow. Compressed air passes upward through the porous air slide fabric, forming a stable air layer that reduces friction between the material and the conveying surface. This fluidization effect allows materials to slide smoothly along the fabric, greatly improving conveying efficiency.

Main Components
- Air Slide Fabric: A breathable medium that allows air penetration while ensuring stable material flow.
- Air Supply System: Typically includes an air compressor and piping to provide consistent airflow through the fabric.
- Conveying Surface: Can be inclined or horizontal, designed based on specific application requirements.
- Inlet & Outlet: Ports for material feeding and discharging.
