Woven filter bags are widely used in various industries for filtration applications due to their excellent performance, durability, and versatility. These filter bags are designed to capture and filter out dust, particles, and other contaminants from liquids and gases.

Materials

  • Polyester.
  • PTFE.
  • P84.
  • Fiberglass.
  • Nomex (Aramid).

Advantages

  • Good resistance to acid.
  • Performs best at high temperature.
  • Increase in air flow.
  • Decrease in pressure drop.
  • Reduces maintenance and downtime.

Description

Woven filter bags are characterized by anti-collapse rings sewn onto the bag body to prevent the bag from collapsing when the flow is reversed. The majority of dust collector bags are 5”, 8” or11.5” diameter and may be as long as 35′-40′ overall. These bags are installed under tension to minimize movement. Sonic horns may also be used to assist dust release. Woven dust collector bags are made from woven fabrics including fiberglass, however felts are also used with cake release surfaces and chemical treatments. Felts offer greater flow at comparable efficiencies or higher efficiencies at comparable flows.

Weave Patterns

The weave patterns for spun yarns generally are those as we find in multifilament, such as, plain weaves, oxford weaves, twill weaves, satins, etc.

Twill Weave
Satin Weave

About post-treatment

The key to achieving optimal performance of woven cloth dust collector filter bags lies in post-treatment. Without post-treatment, the fiber filaments in the filter fabric will break due to abrasion by dust particles or chemical erosion by airflow. Woven cloth dust collector filter bags are usually coated and non-coated, and both have silicone oil treatment and graphitization treatment.

Application

  • Air filtration: Used in dust collectors and other air filtration systems to trap airborne particles and pollutants.
  • Liquid filtration: Commonly used in industries such as food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, and chemical processing to remove solid particles from liquids.
  • Industrial processes: Woven filter bags are used in a variety of industrial applications, including water treatment, metal finishing, and power generation.
