Basalt needle-punched felt combines high temperature resistance, excellent chemical stability, and strong mechanical performance. It is an ideal alternative to traditional fiberglass filter media, especially in harsh industrial environments with high temperatures and fluctuating operating conditions.
Description
Basalt needle-punched felt is a high-performance, high-temperature resistant filter material. Made primarily from natural basalt fibers, it is formed through a needle-punching process after opening and carding, creating a three-dimensional entanglement structure between the chopped fibers and a reinforcing base fabric (optionally a continuous fiber base fabric). This results in a stable felt-like nonwoven filter material. This structure not only enhances the overall strength of the material but also significantly improves filtration stability and service life, making it suitable for high-temperature, high-load industrial dust removal environments.
Structure & Material Features
- Fine fiber diameter (approx. 5.5 μm / 7 μm) with large specific surface area.
- High porosity (around 80%) for excellent air permeability.
- Optional basalt continuous filament base fabric for enhanced mechanical strength.
- Boron-free composition with improved environmental performance.
Key Performance Advantages
-
Excellent high-temperature resistance: Continuous operating temperature up to 350°C.
-
Outstanding chemical stability: Excellent resistance to acids, alkalis, and corrosion.
-
High filtration efficiency: Up to 99.6% or higher.
-
Good dust release performance: Easy cleaning and low operating resistance.
-
Excellent dimensional stability: Maintains structure under high temperatures.
-
Flame retardant & UV resistant: Inherently non-combustible inorganic material.
-
Optional anti-static properties: Suitable for explosive or combustible dust environments.
