Filmedia® 1313 aramid (also known as meta-aramid) is a high-performance fiber filter material with exceptional heat resistance and natural flame retardancy, enabling long-term stable operation in extreme environments. Its unique molecular structure imparts exceptional thermal stability and mechanical strength, enabling it to perform exceptionally well under harsh conditions such as high temperatures, abrasion resistance, and chemical corrosion.
Description
Material Characteristics
- High-Temperature Resistance: Aramid fiber is not a thermoplastic fiber and possesses long-lasting thermal stability. It can be used for extended periods within a temperature range of -196°C to 204°C. Its shrinkage is only 1% at 250°C, and it will not become brittle, soften, or melt even after brief exposure to temperatures of 300°C.
- Corrosion Resistance: Aramid fiber has a stable chemical structure and is resistant to most concentrated inorganic acids. It also exhibits good alkali resistance at room temperature and is also stable to other chemical reagents and organic solvents. PTFE impregnation further enhances its corrosion resistance.
- High Strength: Aramid fiber exhibits excellent flexural and abrasion resistance, surpassing most synthetic fibers. Filter cloths made from it possess high mechanical strength, excellent wear resistance, and a long service life.
- Flame Retardancy: Aramid fiber does not continue to burn when removed from flame. With an Oxidation Resistance Index (LOI) of ≥28, it is inherently flame-retardant, neither spontaneously igniting nor supporting combustion, and produces no droplets when burned.

Industry Applications
Aramid filter media, due to its excellent high-temperature resistance and chemical stability, is widely used in high-temperature flue and hot air filtration systems in various industrial sites, including chemical plants, thermal power plants, carbon black plants, cement plants, lime plants, coking plants, smelters, asphalt plants, and paint shops.
- In high-temperature equipment like electric arc furnaces, oil boilers, and incinerators, aramid filter media not only effectively removes dust particles and harmful particulates from the air, ensuring a clean and safe production environment, but also effectively resists chemical attack from harmful fumes such as acids, alkalis, and oxidants, extending its service life.
- Aramid filter media also plays a vital role in the recycling industry, capturing fine particles in precious metal recovery and dust recovery, reducing resource waste and improving economic efficiency.
