Loom type

Looms that have traditionally been woven using yarns can be divided into two major categories, woven and knitted. The looms include the original shuttle looms and the new shuttleless looms. The shuttleless looms mainly include rapier looms, air jet looms, water jet looms and projectile looms. Knitting machines are divided into two major categories, warp knitting and weft knitting, and there are many small classifications under them.
Woven can be divided into two categories: shuttle looms and shuttleless looms according to the weft insertion method. The shuttle loom is a weaving machine that uses a traditional shuttle (wood shuttle or plastic shuttle) to weft. The shuttle is large in size and heavy in weight, and is repeatedly projected by the vehicle. The machine has large vibration, high noise, slow speed and low efficiency. The weft insertion method of the shuttleless loom is various, including rapier, jet (jet, water jet), gripper, multi-shed (multi-phase) and weaving.
Rapier loom
The rapier loom uses a rigid or flexible rapier head to bring grip and guide the weft. In addition to being suitable for weaving plain and textured fabrics, rapier looms are characterized by easy color change and suitable for multi-color weft fabrics. They are suitable for the production of yarn-dyed, double-layered velvet fabrics, terry fabrics and decorative fabrics.
Air jet loom
The air jet loom draws the weft yarn with the injected compressed air stream and carries the weft yarn through the shed. The most important feature of air jet loom is its high speed and high labor productivity. It is suitable for the production of plain and textured fabrics, fine and high-density fabrics and large-volume fabrics.
Water jet loom
The water jet loom uses water as a weft insertion medium to generate a frictional traction force on the weft yarn by the jet water flow, so that the weft yarn on the fixed bobbin is introduced into the shed. The water jet loom is characterized by high speed and high unit yield, and is mainly suitable for the production of hydrophobic filament chemical fiber fabric with smooth surface.
Projectile loom
The projectile weaving machine holds the weft yarn with a small flap-shaped shuttle with a clip, and projects the weft insertion. The projectile weaving machine has the advantages of stable weft insertion, excellent fabric quality and less weft yarn, and is suitable for the production of multi-color weft fabrics, fine, thick fabrics and wide fabrics.
