Recently, the Membrane Technology Application Engineering Center of the Chongqing Institute of Green and Intelligent Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences has successfully developed an air purification membrane that can purify harmful substances such as ultrafine particles and viral microorganisms in the air. This product will be mainly used in PM2.5 protective masks, automotive and indoor air purification, industrial dust removal and other fields.

It is understood that the special membrane for filtering air on the market mainly uses melt-blown fibers from several companies in the United States and China to prepare air filter membranes. The fiber diameter is on the order of micrometers, and there are disadvantages such as low filtration precision and large filtration resistance.

The Chongqing Institute of Green and Intelligent Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences will prepare ultra-fine nanofibers as air purification membrane materials with higher filtration accuracy and lower filtration resistance. It can easily achieve 99.99% interception accuracy for 0.33UM ultrafine particles. And the economic cost is low.

Relevant personnel said that this nano air film can be widely used in anti-virus, anti-bacterial, PM2.5 protective mask, automotive air purification, indoor air purification, industrial dust removal, PM2.5 detection filter and so on.

In addition, the Chongqing Institute of Green Intelligent Technology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences also used the micro/nano fiber reinforced technology for the first time to produce high-performance hollow fiber ultrafiltration membrane products, which doubled the strength and toughness of hollow fiber membranes and solved the problem of hollow fiber membranes being easily broken. At present, a production line of hollow fiber membranes with an annual output of 50,000 square meters has been established to produce membrane products for sewage (curtain) and drinking water (column). It is applied to the deep treatment and reuse of wastewater from membrane technology materials, and the upgrade of tap water.
